drowning, a poem

i am sponge
porous for you.
i am dry
brittle.

in no need
of your quenching.
slowly, meekly
with persistent tenacity
you create
basins of water

into which my soul
dips itself.

i neither drown
nor saturate
my fibrous heart

but without trying
you soak
my all.

I like the idea of the soul being dipped. :)

Here's my attempt at the PhotoPlay prompt. I couldn't find the "A" thing on my little digital. Sorry!

This poem quenches. I think I understand. So lovely, Claire.

I took some photos this evening, but was a bit disappointed in the results. Not sure if I can find a post for them, but if I do, I'll drop the link back here. It was fun to try, though, Claire.

Ok. I gave it a try. The light was fast-fading, so I had a hard time of it. Here's my post:

The manual on my camera is a bit limited 2.8-8.0 but I had a lot of fun walking the path with a goal in mind while turning off the auto :)

Thank you for challenging us.

Huh, what do you know? It seems we have a similar thread.

Blessings.

I gave it a try, Claire. I had taken a similar shot a few days earlier, but went back after your photo prompt, and these shots turned out much better. Thanks for the A dial lesson. You're a grade-A teacher! :-)

Claire, some people (including me!) are having trouble seeing the photos I post. If you can't see it, maybe I'll have to email it to you?

On my point-and-shoot (Canon PowerShot 770), there's no "A" but there's "exposure." I tried adjusting that. The lower the exposure, the better I see the reflection (rather than the surface reflecting it).

Sigh. I love your poetry.

Here is my photoplay post.

I love this poem, so beautiful.

Here is a reflection photo from me, although I'm afraid I didn't fulfill the apeture aspect of the challenge - my inability or inclination to delve into the technicalities of photography is a great flaw, and I look forward to learning more from you.
