the snow keeps us...
the snow. it keeps us together.
its white blanketing a mystery.
but i wonder
was it the sunshine that took us
down country lane
and chisseled beach
the moment unplanned
there in ice
and sleet
he took me in.
to something warm.
his hands around the shaking
that was me.
this morning while driving to work, together in the snow, calvin played Pink's "Glitter in the Air" song to me. she asks some profound questions. i needed to hear the one about looking fear in the face and inviting a stranger in. i needed to consider what a day with a hand full of glitter would look like.
{at my memoir you will see light, found in warmth, at the edge of a glass}
and as for today's inspiration, erin, the beauty in motion that she is, just has me sitting in perfect silence.

this is so beautiful, claire.
a moment that was meant
A moment to treasure!
A life to live, kissing and holding hands together.
The picture is so very beautifully captured. I felt like getting a kiss right away.
Glad that I chose to come over from Nevine's place.
Splendid.
Joy always,
Susan
Nice photo! I like the original perspective and intimacy of this…. I’m not sure whether you want suggestions for the poem --- after all, this isn’t a workshop, and it is perfectly reasonable if you just don’t care what I think :-) --- but you could gain so much immediacy by cutting the first three lines and beginning with “was it the sunshine that took us….” I love the ending, though. This comes to rest at the perfect moment…..
James,
The feedback is always welcome. Call it what you will... positive crit, a workshop of sorts, just friendly advice. I want all of it.
I went a reread it without the first three lines and yes, the immediacy works.
Thank you for taking the time.
